Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Orbitals game ("Orbitals", "we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. Orbitals is a puzzle game available on the web and as a mobile app for Android and iOS. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.

Information we collect
- Gameplay & leaderboard data. Your scores, the in-game display name you choose, and a randomly generated identifier for your install so we can attribute your scores to you on the leaderboard. This install identifier is stored on our servers only as an irreversible cryptographic digest (an HMAC hash) — we do not keep the raw value.
- Linked account identifiers. If you choose to connect a Google Play Games (Android) or Game Center / Apple (iOS) account, we receive an identifier for that account so your progress can follow you across devices. Like the install identifier, it is stored only as a cryptographic digest. Linking is optional.
- Usage & analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the game is played (e.g. screens viewed, games started/ended, features used). This is tied to a separate, anonymous analytics identifier and is not linked to your real-world identity.
- Advertising data. On the mobile apps we show ads via Google AdMob. Depending on your consent choices, AdMob and its partners may access your device's advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads. See "Advertising and consent" below.
- Technical data. Standard information sent by your device when contacting our servers (such as IP address and device/browser type), used to operate the service, apply rate limits, and prevent abuse.
We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or precise location, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
How we use information
- To run the game and the global leaderboard.
- To let your progress carry across devices when you link an account.
- To moderate display names for offensive content.
- To understand and improve how the game is used.
- To show and measure advertising (mobile apps).
- To protect the service against abuse and fraud.
Advertising and consent
The mobile apps display ads through Google AdMob. Where required by law:
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: before ads load, we show Google's consent (UMP) message so you can choose whether to allow personalized advertising. If you decline, we request non-personalized ads only. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Manage consent in the app.
- iOS: we ask for App Tracking Transparency permission before any cross-app tracking. If you do not allow tracking, ads are non-personalized. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make Orbitals work:
- Google AdMob — advertising (mobile apps).
- PostHog — product analytics.
- Vercel — hosting and serverless backend.
- Google Play Games / Apple Game Center — optional account linking.
Your in-game display name and score are shown publicly on the leaderboard to other players.
Data retention
Leaderboard and account data are kept while your install or linked account remains active. Analytics data is retained according to PostHog's standard retention. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. The app also lets you delete your account and associated leaderboard data from within Settings. To make any other request, email info@playorbitals.com.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
